Standards for Excellence® sets the benchmarks for nonprofits in these important areas. During this session you will learn about:

-Complying with a variety of laws surrounding the nonprofit sector
-Disclosure requirements
-Reporting misconduct and whistleblower protection (including from your program stakeholders)
-Conflicts of interest
-Developing a code of ethics for your organization
-The quality of educational and advocacy information you provide
-Legal advocacy and lobbying efforts

Participants will receive 8 educational resource packets full of samples and examples, including a legal requirements checklist. At the end of the training session, you will be able to complete the Legal Compliance and Ethics section and Public Awareness, Engagement, and Advocacy section of the Standards for Excellence organizational assessment and planning tool.

This training will be offered in Jasper at the Walker Area Community Foundation and on Zoom. Danielle Dunbar, Executive Director of the Alabama Association of Nonprofits, will lead this training session.

Level: 101 and open to all

You may register for the hybrid training or a link to the recorded training with materials. Registration for the live version ends on 5/17/22, and registration for the recorded session ends on 5/19/23.

A cap of 20 in person and 25 online attendees on 5/19/22.
Registration cap for recorded session is unlimited.

All registrants will be emailed a homework assignment and resource packets a week before the training. Those joining by Zoom will also receive an invitation to the Zoom meeting.
Those joining by recorded session will be sent the resource packet and link to the recording on 5/20/22.
