Description In an increasingly data-driven world, nonprofits face new challenges in tracking their project outcomes. Join us as we explore the nuances of this important topic.

Your trainer will be Rachel D. Cochran, Senior Research Associate,
Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama [PARCA]

Rachel has more than twenty years of experience in the fields of social science research, measurement and assessment, and educational evaluation, working for diverse organizations such as the University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences, the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented, and Houghton-Mifflin’s Riverside Publishing. Formerly the Assistant Director of the Center for Educational Accountability at UAB, she has served as Co-PI for several large-scale, multi-year educational research and reform efforts funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, the National Institutes of Health, and the Institute for Education Sciences. She holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and English from Birmingham-Southern College, a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology.

The Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama (PARCA) is Alabama’s first and only independent research center. PARCA works to inform and improve the decision making of state and local leaders in Alabama through objective research and analysis. PARCA studies state and local finances and taxes, school performance, workforce development, and government operations.

We assess infrastructure, education outcomes, and government and nonprofit performance measures.
-We help counties, cities, and schools improve budgeting.
-We make recommendations to improve process and performance.
-We educate citizens about good policy and good decision making.

Our work supports and informs policy makers at all levels, from state-wide elected officials, to Legislators, to city and county officials, to public school administrators, to nonprofit leaders.
