Description Your trainers are Abby Hammond and Kim Crouch of Walk Up Advocacy.

Abby and Kim will provide a general overview of how nonprofit organizations can effectively advocate on their issues and outline why an advocacy strategic plan is crucial to achieving long-term success. This session will answer the questions: What is advocacy? How does it work? How do you do advocacy?

In this training, participants will be provided with:

- a general overview of effective advocacy
- specifics on how to write an advocacy strategic plan
- specifics on how to deploy advocacy communications
- recommendations on community engagement and grassroots coalition building.
