Description The Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC) is proud to present a staged reading of Anna Moench's Birds of North America. In this delicately balanced play, a father and daughter grapple with loss over the span of a decade as they go birding in their backyard, at times leaning on one another to survive, at other times wounding one another even more. Their intimate relationship serves as a microcosm for larger changes in our ecosystem.

During Moench's residency with BETC, Birds of North America will be rehearsed with a cast of professional actors, director, and dramaturg. The week ends with a play reading on Thursday, June 8th, at the Canyon Theater at the Boulder Public Library, followed by a play discussion and reception. Join us to see a great work in progress!

Our Generations new play development program is made possible by project sponsors Betsy and Albert Hand, as well as by a generous grant from the Sustainable Arts Foundation.
