From the Forest to the Sea: 11th Century Norse Boatbuilding
March 31 - April 2, 2017 (Friday - Sunday)
Participants are introduced to 11th century boatbuilding including the technology of the period, methods of construction, and the many unique tools used in building 'klinker' boats before the advent of saw mills. Lots of hands on skills! Learn more HERE.
Beginning Carving
April 4 - May 2, 2017 (Tuesday Evenings)
Participants will learn and focus on the proper use and technique of carving tools to create a variety of projects. Learn more HERE.
Intro to Blacksmithing in Collaboration with CedarRoot School
April 21 - April 23, 2017 (Friday - Sunday)
Join instructor Erik Newquist for three days of fire, dirt, and noise in a working blacksmith shop. Students will learn to forge iron and carbon steel and make tools of the boatbuilding trade. Learn more HERE.
Intro to Bronze Casting
June 22 & June 23, 2017 (Thursday & Friday)
Students will learn about various methodology and techniques for patterning and casting in bronze. Learn more HERE.
