Description A devised theater piece exploring the mechanics of displacement in an age of immense income inequality. What Fuels Development? brings to life a development struggle in which Skid Row residents organize against gentrification by an alcohol fueled entertainment district. The piece will incorporate a rich layering of lived experiences and “found texts” from public hearings.

Tickets are sliding scale $10 - $25. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Post-performance discussions will follow each show. Pre-show Community Forum with John Malpede, Artistic Director, LAPD and Neeraj Mehta, Director of Community Programs, Center for Urban and Regional Affairs on Saturday, Feb 24, 2018 from 5:30-7:00pm at Old Arizona Theatre prior to the show. The conversation will address issues raised by the show and also explore issues of gentrification and displacement relevant to our own neighborhoods in Minneapolis.
