SUMMARY:Falling Upward: A Retreat Embodying the Wisdom of Richard Rohr & Brene Brown
CATEGORIES:event
DESCRIPTION:Falling Upward: A Retreat Embodying the Wisdom of Richard Rohr & Brene Brown Richard Rohr’s best-selling book “Falling Upward: Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life” has been rereleased on its 10th anniversary with a forward by Brene Brown. Join us for an enriching journey designed for enthusiasts of Rohr and Brown, or those simply curious about their teachings. Enrich your reading of Rohr’s “Falling Upward” by delving into the power of vulnerability-a lifelong endeavor of self-discovery and authenticity. Rohr's use of poet Gerard Hopkins’ poignant quote, "What I do is for me: for that I came," encapsulates the True Self that Rohr believes resides in all our hearts and is where we find our deepest offerings to share in the world. For those ready to embark on this transformative path, Brene Brown's compassionate tools offer a brave exploration of our narratives, empowering us to embrace a both/and approach to spirituality and faith traditions. This workshop integrates the wisdom of both Rohr and Brown, employing their exercises, writing prompts, and reflective practices. Join Arianne Rice, leadership coach, Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, and Episcopal priest, for this day of retreat and self-discovery. You will depart with a deeper comprehension of vulnerability's role in your spiritual journey, transcending the limitations of an either/or mindset to embrace a more inclusive and expansive perspective. Together, we'll confront the stumbling blocks hindering our progress and discover strategies to overcome them. Join us as we embark on this collective exploration of self-discovery and growth. Light snacks, tea, and coffee will be provided. Please bring a bag lunch and the beverage of your choice. DATE: Sunday, November 3, 2024 TIME: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM COST: $65 LOCATION: Well for the Journey - 120 W.
