SUMMARY:Moments in Bloom: Nature, Connection & Fresh Air for People Living with Dementia and their Care Partners (May)
CATEGORIES:event
DESCRIPTION:Moments in Bloom: Nature, Connection & Fresh Air for People Living with Dementia and their Care Partners Moments in Bloom is a gentle, dementia-friendly program designed to create meaningful moments of connection for individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Please join us for intentional time in and around nature at our Lutherville–Timonium center. Together, we will explore gentle nature walks, guided reminiscence, mindful body movement, contemplative practices, music and other nature-themed sensory experiences—each designed to meet participants where they are, with compassion and flexibility. This program is designed for individuals who may or may not have previously spent time outdoors prior to the onset of dementia. Activities can be adapted to honor varying physical abilities, including wheelchair accessibility and seated participation. Lunch and refreshments will be served. Benefits of participating in this event include: · Meaningful moments of connection between care partners and loved ones in nature · Gentle engagement with beauty, movement, reflection, and imagination, while accommodating cognitive differences and decline · Connecting with oneself and former/current interests and activities in a familiar way that provides momentary conscious awareness, connection, and a deep impact on a spiritual/meaning-making level that is more than momentary · Spiritual and emotional nourishment through community and the presence of nature Well for the Journey is once again honored to partner with Dementia Friendly Baltimore County through a funded grant that allows us to offer this soul-nourishing program free of charge. Registration is required so that we can plan appropriately and notify you in the event of inclement weather. The Weather Date for the program is Friday, June 5, 2026. After receipt of your registration, you will receive a phone call that will help personalize your visit and participation in the program. We hope you will join us! Please contact Gordon Creamer at Well for the Journey for more details and if you have any questions about the session. You can email him at gordon@wellforthejourney.org or reach him by phone at 410.296.9355.
