SUMMARY:Death Café at the Well
CATEGORIES:event
DESCRIPTION:Death Café at the Well Have you ever wanted to talk about death but were afraid to bring up the subject with friends or family? At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Well for the Journey is pleased to sponsor a Death Café with Sam Stebbins, certified end-of-life doula, grief educator and coach, interspiritual counselor, retired family physician, and experienced Death Café facilitator. A Death Cafe is a gathering where people discuss their feelings and thoughts about death and their experiences with death. Hot tea and sweet treats are included to remind us of comfort and sweetness even in difficult times. The discussions that will unfold cover a wide range of topics related to death, dying, and grief based on what participants bring. Please be aware that it is not a grief support group. A Death Café is simply an opportunity to normalize conversations about death, which is an essential part of every life, and to increase awareness of death with a view to helping make the most of our time on this earth. There are no expectations except to be supportive of each other and open to everyone's individual interpretations, ideas, hopes, fears, and beliefs about this life and death situation we are all currently living in. As Marcus Aurelius said: “It is not death that man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live." Please bring a spirit of curiosity and wonder to explore these topics in the comfort and intimacy of the Well. This gathering is FREE, but space is limited. Please register early and let us know if your plans change so we can offer your seat to someone else. For more information about Death Cafés, please visit their website at www.deathcafe.com. DATE: Wednesday, May 6, 2026 TIME: 7:00 - 8:30 PM COST: FREE LOCATION: Well for the Journey - 120 W. Seminary Ave, Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093 REGISTRATION is required.
