Description Horizons Men's Group 2023-2024

“Where else could I go to have such a deep conversation about the spiritual journey with other men?”

This question is heard regularly as the Well’s Horizons Men’s group gathers to have honest conversations about how we might live out our spirituality as men in the world - within our daily living.

Past series have focused on themes such as the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith, the first and second halves of life, spirituality and imperfection, why do bad things happen to good people, and what can we learn from other faith traditions - just to name a few!

The 2023-24 Horizons discussions will be guided by Brian McLaren’s book, “Do I Stay Christian: A Guide for the Doubters, the Disappointed, and the Disillusioned.” McLaren says, “There is a way to say both ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to the question of staying Christian by shifting the focus from whether we stay Christian to how we stay human.” So, it follows that the question, “Are we living out of the truth of our tradition or from its doctrine, dogma, and “supposed to(s)?” is one for all faith journeys. We will use McLaren’s book to guide us into this wider conversation.

If you are looking for a community where hard questions are welcomed and explored from the unique perspective of the male spiritual journey, we have a place for you. Join Greg Cochran, the Well’s Executive Director, for a free online information session to learn more about Horizons and see if this community is what you might be looking for - Tuesday, September 12th at 7:00 PM ET.

Horizons Men’s Group will meet on the second Tuesday in October and then the third Tuesday thereafter (November - June), from 7:00pm-8:30pm ET. Our plan is to meet in-person with the option to “zoom in” for those who may not live close by or for those for whom “zooming” is more comfortable. Come check us out!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
We recognize that sometimes plans change and you may not be able to attend a program for which you are registered. On rare occasion, the Well may also need to cancel or reschedule a program. Both situations are disappointing, but we are prepared with the following options.

If a program is cancelled by Well for the Journey, or rescheduled and you cannot make the new date, a full refund will be provided to you. For outdoor programs with pre-scheduled Weather Dates, refunds will be provided only if both the original scheduled date and the planned Weather Date are cancelled.

If you cancel your registration at least 72 hours prior to the program start time, you may gift your ticket to another party or request a refund up to 50% of the program fee. Please contact the Well with your request at kristan@wellforthejourney.org .

We sincerely appreciate your consideration of the time and effort that the Well and your Facilitator put forth in bringing your program to life and thank you for your understanding of our Cancellation Policy.
