Description

Journeying Through Lent in Your Own Way: A Contemplative, Intentional Gathering

“Lent is a time for us to empty ourselves of worldly distractions and allow God to fill us with God’s love, grace, and peace.”
~ St. (Mother) Teresa of Calcutta

The Lenten Season is a fertile time to engage in our spiritual journeys in meaningful ways that are set apart from other times of the year. This dedicated period of time offers invitations to engage our contemplative imagination as we encounter Divine Presence in the shifting of the seasons and within ourselves. This season unfolds with a sacred rhythm that can connect us more intimately with such Presence while pursuing opportunities for nourishment and renewal in relationship with ourselves and others. Moreover, all spiritual seekers can experience various possibilities to discover (or rediscover) the deep, resonant love that exists for each of us as it is revealed within our unique and collective journeys.

As Lent begins its perennial unfolding this February, you are invited to gather virtually with Spiritual Companion and Retreat Leader, Gordon Creamer, to mark this season of hope — to bring your wrestling questions, your longing, and your openness to Spirit’s nudges in your life. In community, we will engage in contemplative practices while also personally reflecting upon what our respective intentions for this annual sojourn might behold. Dedicated time for creatively expressing these intentions will take shape through writing prompts, group discussion, and moments of prayer/meditation. We will also consider ancient and non-traditional Lenten practices that might enhance our journey this year. Music will accompany our time together as a way of deepening our collective reflection.

However you observe this transformative season, we warmly invite you to join us in this online gathering. Wherever you find yourself as Lent commences, this opportunity for beginning anew — together in solidarity and deep Presence — awaits you.
